Newtown Historic District
Newtown encompasses the first developed residential area of Salisbury after the fire of 1886. It includes the oldest dwelling remaining in the city, Poplar Hill Mansion, which survived the fire. Other homes in the district represent Victorian and Colonial styles as well.
Princess Anne Historic Area
founded in 1733, this was a center of 18th century society and has a wealth of historic sites. Among them are Tunstall Cottage (1733), Washington Hotel, St. Andrews Episcopal Church (1770), and the impressive Teackle Mansion (1802), the focal point of the historic district created in 1974. Located about 18 miles south of Salisbury on US 13. An annual tour of the historic sites in the ara. Old Princess Anne Days, is held in October.
this picturesque city is situated at the headwaters of the Wicomico River, and has many well-preserved and restored residential districts that offer great insight into the history and culture of the area, and offer excellent examples of Victorian, Federal and Colonial architecture. The Port of Salisbury Marina is the second largest public marina on Chesapeake Bay, and can accommodate 112 boats.
on the Pocomoke River, Worcester County's first town was issued its charter in 1686 and became a Port of Entry in 1694. The homes of this quiet town reveal a rich and varied architecture from the 18th and 19th centuries.
