Jonesboro is located 15 miles south of downtown Atlanta and is considered part of the Atlanta metro area. It is located along Interstate 75 making it convenient to attractions and special events. Close enough to the big city but far enough away to relax. This was the location of the Battle of Jonesboro and was the inspiration for settings in ""Gone with the Wind.""
